Event site: Deštné v Orlických horách, District of Rychnov nad Kněžnou, Czech Republic
Event centre: Will be announced later.
Event type: Two-stage skirogaining, optional order and number of visited check points. Final results of each team will depend on the total sum of points gained during the course of the both stages. In case of a draw the better finish time wins.
1st stage (Saturday): time limit 6 hours, at 10:00 mass outside the event centre - supposed bus transport to the start (more details in the final bulletin),
2nd stage (Sunday): time limit 4 hours, at 9:00 mass start from the event centre
Race area: Interconnected Ski-areals of Orlické hory (Eagle Mountains) and Góry Bystrzyckie (Bystrzyckie Mountains), race area is determined by municipalities of Olešnice v Orlických horách, Duszniky Zdrój, Polanica Zdrój, Rokytnice v Orlických horách, Zdobnice, Uhřínov, Šediviny and Sedloňov.
Terrain: Hilly terrain, broken relief, elevation between 500 - 1115 m above sea level, matching highland- or mountain-type surroundings. Terrain predominantly covered by forest, average density of paths and skitracks, a steep slope occurs.
Map: Special map for skirogaining, scale 1:50 000, e=10 m,
updated in February 2014, no waterproof layout
Time measurement and punching system: Finish time will be measured using the SportIdent system.
!!! Every competitor has to have it's own SI chip !!!
SI chips could be borrowed from organizer for 50 CZK/pc.
!!! In case of a lost chip a fee of 1000,- CZK will be asked!!!
Punching system will be particularized in the final bulletin.
Teams and categories: In accordance with the IRF rules:
MO, WO, XO; MV, WV, XV

Each team consists of 2-5 members, you may enter the following categories:
M - all men,
W - all women,
X - at least one man and one woman;

O - open - no age limits
V - veterans - all team members must be 40 years old or older.

All team members must go through the whole race together. If any member of a team gives up the race his/her team is obliged to come to finish and end up the race.

Participation regulations: All participants have to sign an indemnity form at the registration. From participants younger than 18 years a signature of their parents or legitimate representative will be asked. The form can be downloaded here.

Mandatory content of the e-mail entry: team name or name of club, gender and age category, surnames and names of all team members, their dates of birth and SI chip numbers, or request to borrow them. Your entry is accepted at the moment you received the organizer's reply.

  • Early registration - up to Sunday 23 March 2014, 24:00 - starting fee 400 CZK/per person
  • Late registration - after Sunday 23 March 2014, 24:00 - starting fee 600 CZK/per person (number of late registrations can be limited)
Payment instruction:

Foreign participants are allowed to pay cash at the event office.

Accommodation:
  • Organizer doesn't provide any accommodation, but there are numerous hostels nearby the event centre.

    Saturday 1 March 2014, 1st stage:
    8:00 – 8:30 - registration and race map handout at the event centre
    9:00 - handout of descriptions
    9:15 - departure of the 1st bus, SI chips will be Checked & Cleared on the way to the start
    9:45 - departure of the 2nd, SI chips will be Checked & Cleared on the way to the start
    9:45 - starting corridor opens, clearing and checking of SI chips finishes
    9:55 - final information of the course setter
    10:00 - start of the 1st wave

    10:05 - final information of the course setter
    10:10 - start of the 2nd wave
    16:00 - end of the 6 hour limit for the 1st wave

    Sunday 2 March 2014, 2nd stage:

    8:30 - starting corridor opens, clearing and checking of SI chips starts
    8:55 - final information of the course setter
    9:00 - start of the 2nd stage
    13:00 - end of the 4 hour limit
    14:30 - prize giving ceremony

    Classification: The point value of each check point is to be find in the check point descriptions (each stage has different check point descriptions). The number and order of the visited control points is up to discretion of each team (go-as-you-please). Check point punching system will be specified in the final bulletin. The final ranking of each team depends on the sum of the points gained. In case of a draw the better time wins. Exceeding of given time limit: each started minute equals to 20 point penalization. If the time limit is exceeded by more than 30 minutes, team will not be classified.
    Parking: At the parking lot of chalet Radost, please respect organizers’ instructions.
    Transport: One’s own, organizer doesn't provide.
    Refreshment: A restaurant in the event centre is available. After the end of each stage you may enjoy tea and organizer's meal. Meal coupons are to be find in the team's registration envelope.

    Please note:
    • The race is organized according to the IRF and Ski-Orienteering rules. During the whole race every participant has to carry the complete ski-equipement. Possible rule exceptions will be announced on the event website or in the final bulletin.
    • As the race area covers both the Czech Republic and Poland, each participant has to carry his/her ID card or passport during the whole race.
    • Taking part in the skirogaining race is on the own risk of each competitor. The organizer doesn’t hold responsibility and/or liability for any damage caused by any participant of the race.
